PickyTic is designed for primary and secondary students, their parents, and educators. Students practice and receive AI feedback; parents monitor progress and manage the family account; and educators can contribute test papers and questions to the question bank.

PickyTic covers a wide range of school subjects across different education levels and grades. Your token balance works across all subjects — there are no separate subject allocations. Coverage depends on the question bank contributed by educators, and you can browse available assessments after signing up.

No. PickyTic runs entirely in your browser — no downloads or installations required.

Yes. All AI interactions are subject to child-safe content filters. The platform is designed with student safety in mind, and parents can monitor all activity through the parent dashboard.

Create a free parent account at PickyTic.ai. You’ll receive a starter token balance — enough for your family to try grading several tests straight away. Each question attempted costs 5 tokens, and tokens are shared across all your children. No credit card required.

Tokens are the credit system that powers all AI features on PickyTic — including test grading, paper processing, and the AI Study Buddy chat. Every parent account has a token balance that is shared across the entire family.

Tokens are charged per question attempted — 5 tokens per question. So if your child completes a 20-question test, 100 tokens are deducted from the family’s balance.

Yes. Your token balance is universal — it is not divided by subject or topic. The same pool covers Maths, Science, English, or any other subject on the platform.

Yes. Tokens are held at the parent account level and are shared across all children linked to that account. There is one combined balance for the whole family.

– Free on registration: Every new parent account receives a starter token allocation — no credit card required.
– Subscription: Paid plans include a token allowance that refreshes each billing period.
– Promotion codes: Promo codes can add bonus tokens to your account when available.

Tokens received through promotions may carry an expiry date. Subscription tokens are valid for the current billing period. Your balance and expiry dates are shown in the parent dashboard.

AI-powered features — grading, chat, and paper processing — are paused until the balance is topped up via a plan upgrade or promo code. All existing results and history remain fully accessible.

The parent dashboard shows your total token balance, how many have been used, and usage broken down by child so you can see how tokens are being spent across the family.

PickyTic offers a free tier and one or more paid subscription plans. Paid plans provide a larger token allowance per billing period and access to premium features. Current pricing is listed on the Pricing page.

Yes. The free plan gives your family a starter token allocation to explore the platform. No credit card is needed to sign up.

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose). Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Yes, you can cancel at any time through your account’s billing portal. You will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.

Your test history, results, and progress data are retained. Only token-gated AI features become unavailable after your subscription ends.

We occasionally offer discounted pricing on plans. Discounts are shown on the Pricing page when active.

Visit the billing portal from your account settings. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle.

All payments are handled by Stripe, a globally trusted payment processor. PickyTic never stores your card details on our servers.

XP (experience points) are earned every time you complete a test. Accumulating XP raises your XP Level, which reflects your overall progress and dedication on the platform.

XP is awarded at the end of every graded test based on several factors:

Score grade XP bonus — Primary School

Score grade XP bonus — GCE O-Level

For example: completing a 10-question test with 3 Low, 4 Medium, and 2 High correct answers on a 5-day streak, scoring AL1 (Primary), earns you: 10 + (3×10) + (4×30) + (2×50) + (4×5) + 50 = 10 + 30 + 120 + 100 + 20 + 50 = 330 XP.

Each level has a defined XP range. As your total XP grows, you advance through named tiers — from beginner levels all the way up to mastery. Your current level and progress to the next level are always shown on your dashboard.

A streak counts consecutive days on which you complete at least one test. You must complete a test on each day to keep your streak alive — missing a day resets it to 1. Your current streak and your personal best streak are both tracked and displayed.

Coins are an additional in-app reward earned alongside XP every time you complete a test.

Coins are awarded using the same framework as XP:

Score grade coins bonus — Primary School

Score grade coins bonus — GCE O-Level

Higher-difficulty questions, consistent daily practice, and scoring in the higher grade bands are the fastest ways to earn both XP and coins. Every test — regardless of score — earns at least 1 coin.

Yes. PickyTic features a leaderboard where you can see how you rank compared to other students. The leaderboard can be filtered by education level and grade so you are always compared fairly to your peers.

After grading, each topic is labelled to help you understand where you stand:
– Strong — Excellent command of this topic
– Proficient — Good understanding with minor gaps
– Developing — Progressing but needs more practice
– Needs Practice — Significant gaps; recommended focus area

Mr. Tic Goals are short- and long-term learning targets set for you based on your performance. Your AI study buddy tracks your trajectory (On Track, Behind, Achieved) and adjusts recommendations accordingly.

Mr. Tic is your personal AI study buddy on PickyTic. He is warm, encouraging, and always focused on helping you learn. Unlike a search engine, Mr. Tic actually knows you — your subjects, your weak areas, your goals, your streak, and your XP — and uses all of that to give advice that is tailored specifically to you.

You can ask Mr. Tic anything related to your studies, such as:
– “What should I study today?”
– “I’m struggling with fractions — can you help?”
– “How am I doing in Science?”
– “What are my active missions?”
– “I feel like giving up — what do I do?”

Mr. Tic will guide you with hints, worked examples, and encouragement. He will never just hand you the answer — his goal is to help you understand, not to do the work for you.

Yes. Every time you chat, Mr. Tic reads your live data from PickyTic — including your education level, grade, XP level, daily streak, subject weak areas, short-term goals, and active missions. His advice is based on where you actually stand, not generic tips.

After every graded test, Mr. Tic’s AI analyses your results and creates up to 3 personalised Missions for you. Each Mission targets a specific weak topic and links directly to a recommended practice — a topical assessment, a test paper, or questions from the question bank. Missions come with an estimated time to complete and are due within 7 days, so you always have a clear next step.

No. Mr. Tic is designed to guide you, not give you the answer. If you share a question you are working on, he will respond with hints, break it into steps, or work through a similar example — so that you build the understanding yourself. This is intentional: the learning has to come from you.

Yes. Mr. Tic is strictly limited to educational topics and is designed to be age-appropriate for students aged 7–18. If you ask about anything outside of your studies, Mr. Tic will kindly redirect you back to learning. All responses are filtered for child-safe content before being shown to you.

Yes. Mr. Tic keeps a conversation history so your chat feels continuous and natural. He remembers what was discussed in the last 30 messages of your session. You can also clear your chat history at any time from the chat screen if you want a fresh start.

Yes. Parents have access to their own separate Mr. Tic advisor. The parent version takes on the role of a learning advisor — like a teacher at a parent-teacher meeting. It can tell you how your child is performing across subjects, flag recurring mistakes, report on goal progress, and suggest how you can support your child’s learning at home. Importantly, your child’s private Study Buddy conversations are never shared with the parent advisor.

The parent advisor has access to your child’s full learning profile, including:
– Subject averages and last test scores
– Weak topics and short-term goals per subject
– Active missions and their status
– Goal trajectory (On Track, Behind, or Achieved)
– Recurring mistake patterns (e.g. careless errors, concept gaps) broken down by subject

It gives concrete, data-backed recommendations — not vague encouragement.

Yes. Each parent-child pair has its own private conversation history. Your child cannot see your conversations with Mr. Tic, and you cannot see what your child has discussed with their Study Buddy.
