📋
What Is the PSLE and What Does It Test?

The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) is Singapore’s national assessment taken by Primary 6 students. PSLE Math tests problem sums, heuristics, fractions, ratio, speed and geometry across two papers — Paper 1 (MCQ and short-answer, no calculator) and Paper 2 (problem sums with working, calculator allowed). PSLE Science tests five themes — Cycles, Diversity, Energy, Interactions and Systems — across Section A (28 MCQ) and Section B (open-ended written answers requiring precise scientific keywords).

Students are scored using Achievement Levels (AL1–AL8) rather than raw marks. Consistent practice with real school prelim papers and targeted topic revision are the most effective ways to improve AL scores before the actual PSLE.

Built for PSLE pressure

How PickyTic Improves PSLE Math & Science Results

PickyTic helps students move from “I don’t know what to revise” to a clear practice path based on mistakes, weak topics and consistent progress tracking — not random revision.

Target weak topics

PickyTic identifies weak areas after two to three sessions so your child practises what matters most — not just what they already know.

Instant explanations

After each practice attempt, students review mistakes with AI-powered feedback — the kind of guidance usually only available from a tutor.

Timed exam simulations

Replicate real PSLE time pressure with timed practice sessions that build exam confidence and reduce last-minute stress.

Parent clarity

Parents can quickly see practice activity, accuracy trends, weak topics and recommended next steps — all in one clear dashboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers for parents and students.

PickyTic provides a parent dashboard with real-time topic-level accuracy, error patterns and recommendations. You can see which topics need attention and monitor improvement over time — without waiting for school exam results.

Readiness goes beyond completing the syllabus — it means performing consistently under exam conditions. PickyTic measures accuracy, consistency and recurring mistakes across topics so you can identify gaps before the actual PSLE. If your child scores above 80% accuracy on timed topic sets and completes at least two full mock papers without major errors, they are likely well prepared. Use the parent dashboard to track weak topics and address them in the final weeks before the exam.

PickyTic AI grades written Science answers against key criteria — evaluating keywords, structure and explanation quality. This targets the exact areas that lose marks in PSLE Science open-ended questions, with feedback that is usually only available from a tutor.

Combine targeted topic practice with timed exam simulations. PickyTic identifies weak areas after a few sessions, then recommends specific topics to work on. Following this with full mock papers under timed conditions builds both accuracy and exam confidence.

Regular mock exams reduce stress by making the exam format familiar. When your child has practiced under timed conditions many times, the actual PSLE feels less daunting. PickyTic also uses gamified progress and rewards to keep practice feeling positive rather than stressful.

PickyTic currently has 134 PSLE prelim papers in total — 63 Math papers and 71 Science papers — sourced from 13 top Singapore primary schools and covering the years 2022 to 2025. In addition to full papers, there are over 390 topical assessments (182 for Math and 208 for Science) organised by exam topic. New papers from the most recent prelim season are added regularly.

For PSLE Math, PickyTic includes prelim papers from 13 schools: ACS (Primary), Anglo-Chinese School (Junior), Catholic High School (Primary), Henry Park Primary, Maha Bodhi School, Nan Hua Primary, Nanyang Primary, Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary, Raffles Girls’ Primary, Rosyth School, St. Hilda’s Primary, Tao Nan School and Unity Primary. For PSLE Science, papers come from 12 of these same schools. New schools may be added as additional papers become available.

Yes — they serve different purposes. Topical assessments focus on a single concept (e.g. Speed & Rate or Cycles) so your child can drill specific weak areas without time pressure. Prelim papers are full exam-style papers from Singapore primary schools, used to practise under timed conditions and test all topics together. For best results, start with topical practice to build accuracy, then move to full prelim papers to build exam stamina and time management.
